Hundreds Of Bandits Killed, Arrested In Zamfara – Governor Matawalle Reveals


 The Governor vowed that the State Government would not condone complacency in the fight against banditry.

He spoke at the swearing-in of the Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service, 18 commissioners, 16 special advisers and three Director-Generals.

Matawalle said Zamfara was in a critical time and trying to get out of “the woods” with bandits being apprehended.

The Governor attributed recent successes to security measures taken flush out the criminals.

”Hundreds of the bandits have been killed and several others arrested along with hundreds of informants and their collaborators”,

He said.

Matawalle added that his administration had initiated palliatives to address the hardship people are going through.

He appealed that they continue to exercise patience amid the shutdown of network services and socio-economic activities.

We Won’t Condone Tarnishing Of APC’s Image – Alao-Akala Warns Party Members

  Former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala has warned members of the party against going on radio or television to discredit the image of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Alao-Akala, who is the Chairman of the Elders Advisory Council of APC in the State, made this disclosure on Tuesday. Alao-Akala ruled Oyo State between 2007 and 2011 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The former Governor, who has since 2019 joined APC warned members not to work against the party in the State. Alao-Akala while addressing some members of the party who came to visit him at his Ibadan residence, declared that the era of impunity and disrespect for party supremacy in the Oyo State had gone. Senate Empowers INEC To Determine Transmission Of Election Results

The senate has reconsidered the electoral act amendment bill and has empowered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to determine the best mode to transmission of election results. The electoral commission will now have to decide how to transmit election results — either electronically or manually. The upper legislative chamber also approved that all political parties must use the direct primary mode in picking candidates. The senate approved four clauses in the electoral act amendment bill.
