Pandora Leak: I Am Yet To Receive Invitation From EFCC – Peter Obi

  Forrmer Anambra Governor, Peter Obi has stated that he has not received any invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in connection with the Pandora paper leak. He also denied having reacted to an invitation from the EFCC to him. He stated that what is being circulated on different social media platforms was not from him. Obi said he only read letters circulating on the internet, just like everyone else. The former governor, in a press release by his media Office, Valentine Obienyem, said a reaction which quoted him as requesting the EFCC to make their investigations public, among other remarks did not emanate from him.   President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Muslims and Nigerians of all faith on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud which marks the birth of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. This was contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Monday. Shehu quoted Buhari as saying, “I am delighted to send greetings of peace, unity and goodwill to the Muslim Ummah, fellow citizens and Muslims all over the world as they observe and celebrate Eid-ul-Maulud.” The President went on to urge Muslims to strive for forgiveness and closeness to the noble life and teachings of the Islamic Prophet. “On this auspicious occasion, I wish you all the blessings of today,” Buhari said.

  Weeks after the Attorney-General of the Federation,  Abubakar Malami threatened a state of emergency in Anambra State , the upper legislative chambers has charged the Federal Government to immediately declare a state of emergency on all federal roads in the country. This was as the senators deliberated that  “the deplorable state of the federal roads in Nigeria have become a national embarrassment as scores of innocent people are kidnapped by bandits, robbed, mutilated and killed daily in avoidable accidents on account of bad federal roads”. UK Govt Advises Citizens Not to Travel To These States in Nigeria (Check If Your State Is There)

  The United Kingdom (UK) has warned its citizens against travelling to some states in Nigeria. This was contained in a travel advisory published by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). The UK government said there is a high threat of kidnap throughout Nigeria for ideological, financial or political gain. “The groups have previously shown intent and capability to conduct kidnaps in Nigeria. Foreign nationals, including humanitarian workers, are likely targets for kidnap. Humanitarian hubs and humanitarian workers have been targeted during attacks in the North East, including  Monguno, Borno State on 13 June 2020,”  the advisory reads. There’s a high threat of kidnap throughout Nigeria. Kidnaps can be motivated by criminality or terrorism and could be carried out for ideological, financial or political gain. Election: Fayemi Invokes Jonathan’s Line As Campaigns Begin

  The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has warned politicians jostling to succeed him in 2022 by paraphrasing former President Goodluck Jonathan’s 2015 catchphrase that his ambition to remain in power is not worth the blood of any Nigerian.   The national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the ongoing State Congress in Oyo State. Naija News  reports that the order was given by the Governor of Yobe State and Chairman, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni. It was gathered that the suspension was due to the forging of documents meant for the exercise and other irregularities. This was made known in a statement signed by the party’s National Secretary, Sen John James Akpanudoedehe, on Saturday.   Chiwetalu Agu Narrates How He Was Treated At DSS Detention Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has narrated how he was treated by men of the Nigerian Army and operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, after his arrest. The 75-year-old actor was arrested in Upper Iweka Bridge in  Onitsha , Anambra State. Agu, who was carrying a charity activity, was picked up by soldiers for wearing a Biafra themed outfit. He was, however, released, but DSS rearrested him. Following his rearrest, DSS was said to have flown him to Abuja for further interrogation. DSS released him following intervention of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN. Speaking on his release, activist lawyer, Mike Ozekhome said DSS released Agu after they searching his phone and found nothing incriminating.
